Howie's Diner sits right off Eads Parkway in Lawrenceburg, blending the classic roadside diner atmosphere with the practicality of a truck stop. This spot has been serving up hearty, straightforward American breakfast and diner fare for years, making it a reliable pit stop for locals, truckers, and travelers passing through.

The interior has that no-frills, homey feel you don’t see much these days—think timeless booths, a diner counter, and a cozy space that never feels rushed despite the steady flow of guests. Because it’s connected to a gas station, the setup is a little quirky, but it works well, especially for people on the go who want a solid meal without pretense.

Breakfast here is a clear draw. The pancakes come out large, with a crisp edge that suggests they’re cooked to order rather than reheated. Popular plates include classic combos like steak and eggs, pork chops, and biscuits and gravy, each prepared with an eye toward generous portions and familiar flavors. The goetta, a regional specialty, gets a nod here, showing how the diner honors local taste alongside standard diner staples.

Service at Howie's leans into genuine friendliness—you’ll often find the staff greeting regulars by name and smoothly handling last-minute special requests, like creating a themed meal for an Easter celebration. Despite notably busy times, cups rarely stay empty, and there’s a sense that the team truly knows their regulars and truckers who make this a routine stop.

Prices might edge a bit higher compared to other spots nearby, but portions are filling enough to justify the cost, especially for those looking to fuel up on a long trip or a working day. Howie's is open 24 hours, but mornings and early afternoons feel like the best times to settle in for a relaxed breakfast or lunch, soaking in the steady hum of conversation and the occasional trucker swapping stories over a hearty meal.

For anyone seeking classic diner comfort food served with steady, approachable hospitality, Howie’s Diner offers a distinct Lawrenceburg flavor—a little slice of Americana shaped as much by its truck stop roots as by its position within the local community.

Very genuine people! Out of all the places we visited, the food here was the tastiest. Pancakes are phenomenal with a nice crispy exterior, burger was the perfect juiciness, Mac & cheese was spectacular…. We are definitely coming back!

For a place That’s used to dealing with truckers, they always come through in a pinch. I called last minute and they were able to create an Easter bunny for my son for Easter. Great people, amazing food and a frequent stop for all of our holiday characters.

I’ve been coming to Howie’s for years and have always had a pleasant experience. I took the guys for some good breakfast and they didn’t disappoint. All our food came out fresh and hot. Service was excellent and never had an empty cup. This sweet little diner is connected to a gas station and has a quirky set up that you don’t see much these days. The prices are a little steep, but you do get a plateful. Everyone is always kind and welcoming and a great spot when you’re passing through!

Fantastic. Spent 3 days here waiting on a load and never had a meal I didn't thoroughly enjoy. The staff are very friendly. The pancakes are bigger than the plates. The steak and eggs is very good, cooked medium rare as requested. The pork chops were gorgeous and tasty. The gotta is very good. Almost forgot to mention the blackberry cobbler, very good. Definitely one of the best truck stops I've stayed at.

I LOVE Howie's Diner! It is exactly what you would expect when you envision a good ole fashioned diner. It is a Lawerenceburg classic, and you have to try it at least once! It has delicious breakfast comfort food. I got the goetta, eggs, toast, and crispy hashbrowns. I requested my hashbrowns extra crispy, and they were perfect! The atmosphere is classic and endearing. They are open 24 hours a day, so you can get hot delicious breakfast any time! The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was a bit pricey. For two of us, it was just shy of $50 without the tip. If you're nearby, I still highly recommend stopping by Howie's Diner!
